Weekend Reading 06.27.19

Around here this weekend looks like meeting up with friends at the beach and then cleaning, prepping and packing for a family camping trip next week. Whatever your weekend looks like, I hope you find some inspiration and encouragement here.

The Love and Lure of Nature Walking This homeschool mom beautifully articulates the spiritual significance of spending time in nature with our kids. One of my favorite perks of homeschooling is the freedom it gives us to spend hours of unstructured time outdoors.

Fourth of July Crafts & Activities I love this wonderful collection of 4th of July crafts, treats, and activities.

The Call of the Wild + Free So excited to see this book available for pre-order! And the pre-order bonuses are some of the best I've seen. You can check them out here.

Books About the Moon Landing We've been diving deep into JFK in history and astronomy in science so celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing is a must for us this year. We're planning to make the trip to the JFK Museum in Boston for their festivities, but we're getting excited by digging into some of these picture books with a plate of Marshmallow Moon Oreos nearby :)

18 Questions, 21 Candidates Did you see these video interviews of the 2020 Democratic Presidential candidates put out by the New York Times? What an easy-to-digest and informative way to take in all the different candidates.

Turning Down the Noise of Hyperarousal I loved this mom's story of how she brought quiet from the noise of digital distraction into her home and what a difference it made to her family. Something we all need to think about.

10 Best Books to Encourage Your Heart As a Homeschool Mom I shared over on the Homeschool Compass this week about my favorite books for homeschool encouragement. I'm sure you'll find something to bless your heart there!

Have a lovely and restful weekend, friends!
