20 ways to savor springtime by Tsh Oxenreider

Spring weather is finally due to arrive in Boston this week. I'm looking forward to enjoying some of these.

How to talk to your daughter about her body from Sarah Koppelkam

This is so spot on! I couldn't help but smile reading about encouraging our daughters to climb mountains and surf and take on scary things. Pretty sure there is one daughter around here who won't need much encouragement in those areas!

A year spent buying only necessities from Michelle McGagh

I think this lady and I would be good pals. It's nice to read about someone focusing on being content with less instead of striving to get more.

The most famous book that takes place in every state from Melia Robinson

I have only read six of these! Six! And almost all of those were from Southern states that I've never visited. I've never even heard of the Michigan book, and I haven't read any of the New England selections. Kind of makes me wonder about the author's taste in literature, but still I'm always down for a book list, and this one has a lot of fiction which I seldom read so I'd like to check out some of these.

The gift of presence, the perils of advice from Parker Palmer

I saved the best for last. I love Parker Palmer with all my heart, and the message of this article is so valuable: "The human soul doesn't want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed - to be seen, heard and companioned exactly as it is.  When we make that kind of deep bow to the soul of a suffering person, our respect reinforces the soul's healing resources, the only resources that can help the sufferer make it through."
